Geology - "Unaweep" means a canyon with two mouths.
History - The mining boom developed route CO-141 for easier access to Unaweep Canyon.
Plantlife - There's a plant called the "Brown-Spined Prickly Pear" that is very wide and has red, yellow, or pink flowers.
Watershed - During two months of the year Unaweep Canyon fills with water and creates a divide, it's the only canyon in the world that does this.
Wildlife - The "Ringtail" (Bassariscus Astutus) lives near the cave shafts and miners used to have them as pets to prevent vermin in their homes.
